Vijaya Dashami is on Wednesday 21 October 2026. Darpan bisarjan and sindur khela happen in the morning. Immersions begin that afternoon and continue for several days.
Agartala: Dashami Ghat
Most Agartala pujas immerse their idols at Dashami Ghat (Dashamighat) on the Haora river in Joynagar. On the busiest evenings, processions queue along the roads leading to the ghat, so expect slow traffic around Joynagar, Battala and Nagerjala.
Mayer Gaman: the Durga Puja carnival
Mayer Gaman ("the Mother's farewell") is Tripura's state Durga Puja carnival, organised by the Information and Cultural Affairs department with Agartala Municipal Corporation. Selected clubs parade their idols with tableaux and music from Maharani Tulsibati Girls' HS School through Kaman Chowmuhani, Post Office Chowmuhani, Paradise Chowmuhani and Battala to Dashami Ghat for immersion, and the best entries win prizes.
- 2025: the fourth edition was held on 4 October 2025, two days after Dashami, with more than 42 community puja idols. Shatadal Sangha won first prize.

Traffic in Agartala
- On Puja days: Agartala Traffic Police run no-entry zones from 5 PM to 1 AM, with stricter parking checks around Maharajganj Bazar.
- On carnival day: in 2023, traffic was stopped from Kaman Chowmuhani to Dashami Ghat from 2 PM. There were no-entry points at Gandhighat, Nagerjala, Battala, Dashamighat and Joynagar, and parking at IGM Chowmuhani, Jackson Gate and the Battala TRTC complex.

Other towns
- Bishalgarh: the sub-divisional carnival runs through Bridge Chowmuhani, with immersion at Dashami Ghat in Noya Para.
- Elsewhere: most towns immerse in their nearest river, such as the Gomati at Udaipur, the Muhuri at Belonia, the Khowai at Khowai, the Manu at Kailashahar and the Juri at Dharmanagar. Each district administration names the ghats and timings every year.

Stay safe at the ghat
- Don't go into the water. Leave immersion to the club volunteers and divers.
- Keep children close and agree on a meeting point before you reach the crowd.
- Leave flowers, plastic and thermocol in the bins, not the river.
- In an emergency, call 112.
